A Christmas Gift For You

Hope it fits!

FlashBack Universe Presents…

The Saturn Knight Before Christmas!

Just in time for Christmas, click the image above to read the FlashBack Universe’s latest full-length comic, written by me, drawn by “Peerless” Pierre Villeneuve, and colored by an all-star team of Santa’s Little Helpers! The link’ll take you to a webcomic-style layout, but as with all FlashBack comics, it’s also available as a free download in .cbr format, although if you like it, feel free to donate and encourage Jim Shelley to give me some more work.

As long-time ISB readers might realize, “Saturn Knight Before Christmas” is the first full-length comic that I’ve written to be made available to the public, and I can honestly say that I think it’s one of the best things I’ve done. As arrogant as it is to say it, there’s a line in there that still cracks me up, and I hope you guys enjoy it too.

Bonus Update: If webcomic and .cbr aren’t enough formats for you, “Saturn Knight Before Christmas” is now available on the iPod and iPhone via ComicZeal! It’s free when you download the program via the Apple App Store!

It’s New Comics Day at the Action Age!

In lieu of fresh ISB content today, direct your eyes to the Action Age of Comics for the first four pages of Impossible! #1, by Chad Bowers and Chris Nye!

Impossible is the story of Jon Raymond, a pulp-style adventurer in a world of super-villains who retired years ago to a life of solitude. Now, something’s bringing him back… and it’s not gonna be good.

Those of you who are regulars around the comics scene here in the Southeast might remember Impossible from when Chad and Chris first cooked it up a few years ago, releasing it as a full-length comic book to local success and high praise, including a favorable review by the Comics Buyer’s Guide’s Tony Isabella! Now, for those of you who didn’t get to see it the first time, Chad’s remastered it and over the next few weeks, we’ll be serializing it at the Action Age.

So head over there, check it out, and let us know if you’re ready to believe… the Impossible!

Leave No Stone Unturned!

Head over to the Action Age website today to get the skinny on the next Instant Classic coming up from the House of Awesome! And believe me, I’m pretty sure that our next project is going to be of particular interest to long-time ISB readers.

Why? Because it might just have something to do with the world’s greatest half-vampire private detective.

Click the image to get a better look at the cover and read the Press Release for more information, and be on the lookout for a full length Solomon Stone comic coming soon, only at the Action Age!

And in the meantime, why not catch up on the series thus far?

Get Ready For Action!

Some of you may already know this if you follow my Twitter feed, or if you were curious enough to check out the URL when you read Exterminape: The Trailer a couple of weeks ago, but tonight, I’m making it official:

Click the above image to head over to Action Age Comics and check out the projects we’re working on!

The first things we put up were for Exterminape, but really, the Action Age started with The Hard Ones, and if you got the six-page ashcan that Chad and I (along with Jay, our original artist) were giving out at HeroesCon this year, you know we’re serious about living up to the name. And rest assured, we’ll be seeing more from Pete and Judah soon–very soon, I hope–but in the meantime, Chad and I created Action Age as a place to put out the other stories we’ve got rattling around.

We’re two guys who like comics. We like reading them, we like talking about them, and we like making them, and with the Action Age and the fantastic artists we’ve got lined up, we’re trying to bring that same kind of fun to the table, with everything from short stories (like Exterminape) to one-page strips to serialized full-length comics.

Right now, there’s not a whole lot up there–although what is there is pretty kickass, I think–but keep your eyes peeled for updates on my next couple of projects as well as the debut of Chad’s Monster Plus, the comic about the mummified zombie werewolf vampire Frankenstein possessed by a witch doctor on the moon in the future that even I said went too far, but that Chad assures me goes just too far enough.

Seriously, it’s going to be awesome.

Any questions?
