Print Is Undead: The Drac #2 Contest!

If you were waiting for something that would make buying Dracula the Unconquered #2 even more enticing than just getting an all-new, all-ages, all-action 24-page comic for just one dollar, now is your chance: Anyone who picks up Drac #2 before Friday gets a chance to win a copy of the Drac #1 Special Edition (pictured above with 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand to prove it exists), a printed version of our first issue. I’ll sign it, draw something on it, whatever you’d like! All you need to do is buy it this week — and if you’ve already bought your copy, that counts too — and I’ll pick someone at random and send an email first to make sure you want it!

I’ve sold the print copies at conventions before, but since the digital version is only a buck, they’re prohibitively expensive to make. As a result, they’re totally rare collector’s items (or at the very least, they’re “rare” enough that they hopefully make a nice little bonus for people who like the series). Head over to Dracula the Unconquered to grab your issue and maybe win something printed on paper!

Dracula the Unconquered #2 Is Finally Out!

Finally, after months (and months, and months) of anticipation, Dracula the Unconquered #2 is available now! For one thin American dollar, you get 24 pages (plus covers) of all-new, all-ages, all-action comics by me, Steve Downer and Josh Krach, with Dracula and Thalia descending beneath his London manor home and being confronted with an enemy from his past! You can read a six-page preview at the link above, and buy the full comic. Feel free to spread the word!

The Last of the Southern Gentlemen World Tour Hits Myrtle Beach!

This weekend, Chad and I are going to be joined by special guest pal Dr. K as we head to Myrtle Beach for XCON V!

Chad and I had the pleasure of being guests at this con back in October of 2010, and it was a blast. This year, though, it has the added bonus of being moved to Bike Week, during which 50,000 bikers descend on Myrtle Beach for fun times, rides, and miscellaneous felonies. So that should be interesting.

There are plenty of events at this show to fill up the three days, including pro wrestling and — and this is the most fun thing to type — a Cassie Hack lookalike contest held at Ripley’s Aquarium, so if you’re in the area, swing by. Also, this is the first con that I’ll have the Drac the Unconquered promo postcards to give out, as well as the sadly-not-for-sale printed copies of Drac #1 to show off the book to people who haven’t bought it. It should be a lot of fun!

The Preview of Dracula the Unconquered #2!

It’s been a while since the first issue, but Dracula the Unconquered #2 is on the way later this month! And just to get people ready for it, we’ve got a six-page preview of our second issue, “Captives of the Catacombs!” Follow Dracula as he returns to his English manor alongside his teenage assistant Thalia, only to find a series of deadly traps designed to keep him caged. Will Dracula’s adventure end before it begins? Find out soon in Dracula the Unconquered #2!

The Action Age Comics Last of the Southern Gentlemen World Tour 2012 Hits

This weekend, Chad and I are once again hitting the road as part of our three-state World Tour. This time, we’re heading up to Ultimate Comics in Durham, NC for Free Comic Book Day! We’ll be there as guests along with significantly more famous comics creators like Brian Clevinger, Joe Keatinge, Chris Burnham and more, chatting about our comics and doing (terrible) sketches from 10 AM to 4 PM (and we’ll probably stick around a while after that, too).

There’s plenty of other stuff going on, including a costume contest at noon and, of course, Free Comic Books If you’re in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area or feel like making the drive, come on out and say hi! It’ll be fun!

The Action Age Comics Last of the Southern Gentlemen World Tour 2012 hits Athens for Fluke!

It’s been a while since the heights of success reached by the Action Age Comics Never Look Back Never Say Die World Tour 2011, but Convention Season is once again upon us. That can mean only one thing: Chad and I are loading up the car and hitting the road for the Action Age Comics Last of the Southern Gentlemen World Tour 2012!

We’ve got a busy schedule over the next couple months with stops at Chapel Hill’s Ultimate Comics for Free Comic Book Day, Myrtle Beach for X-Con, and of course, HeroesCon in Charlotte, but this weekend, we’re kicking it off with a trip to Fluke in Athens, Georgia! Last year was our first trip to Fluke, and it was one of the most fun shows we’ve ever done, so if you’re in the area or feel like making the trip down to the 40 Watt Club, swing by, say hello, and pick up a copy of Awesome Hospital or Monster Plus in print or drop a buck for your very own terrible sketch.

Plus, my pal Catie Donnelly, who was kind enough to draw the art for this year’s tour poster, will be there too! It’ll be a great time! Find out more about Fluke here, and we’ll see you in Athens!

I’ve been playing Fallout: New Vegas working like a Christmas elf over the past weekend, so I’ve neglected keeping the ISB updated with my various writing exploits. I’m sure you’ve all missed the links, but rest easy, because I’ve got a ton of ’em:

First up, the return of Great Comics That Never Happened, featuring the art of Kerry Callen!

Who could’ve gotten the Avengers such terrible Christmas presents? Find out in Who Is — The Secret Santa?!

Next, it’s the second episode of Spider-Man Japan, with me and Caleb Goellner!

This week, we learn the origin of Garia from Planet Spider, who is apparently meant to be a Christ figure. Who knew?

From last Friday, it’s the first Ask Chris-tmas Special:

This week, some terrifying event has left us with a need to replace Santa Claus with a super-hero. Can I do it, or is Christmas Ruined Forever?!

Finally, this week’s War Rocket Ajax!

Believe it or not, this is the first time in almost a hundred episodes that we’ve had someone from Archie Comics as a guest, but we talk to Alex Segura about Archie Meets KISS and the company’s progressive new direction! Plus, listen in as a a dude whose actual job is to make people like Archie Comics gets a little freaked out about how much I like Archie Comics.

I know I haven’t linked to it here in a while, but Awesome Hospital Forever has kept on rolling! Dystopian Futures! Dystopian Pasts! Dystopian PRESENTS?! Thrill to the time-bending, senses-shattering adventure as we roll on through the epic of dirtbike time travel and robot romance!
