War Rocket Ajax #4: Hard Times!

It’s Independence Day, but War Rocket Ajax doesn’t take holidays. Except for when we’re tired, like after conventions. And that time last February when Euge was snowed in. But whatever!

Point is, we have a new show this week: the first Ajax/ComicsAlliance roundtable episode, where Laura Hudson and Chris Haley join us to talk about comics, San Diego memories, and what it was like to meet Data. Plus: More pro wrestling content than we have ever had before, with the possible exception of the Jarrett Williams episode. And why?

Because THAT’S hard times!

War Rocket Ajax v.2, #2: Bearded Homonculus with Matt Fraction!

In this week’s exciting War Rocket Ajax, Matt Fraction stops by to chat about Fear Itself and his history with comic book conventions, and also he solves a murder!

Okay, not really. But I’d be lying if I said Matt and I didn’t consider experimenting with adding a murder mystery element to the new version of the show. I’m thinking we could get some of that Castle money. But perhaps I’ve said too much! Anyway: Listen, subscribe, send us listener mail!

War Rocket Ajax #1: Total Sellouts

This week, it’s ourBig Change, as War Rocket Ajax becomes the official podcast of ComicsAlliance!

In order to introduce ourselves to our new audience, Matt (slightly drunk) and I (definitely sick) spend an hour talking to each other, answering listener questions and breaking down just who we are and how we came to be. Plus there’s a brief roundup of the fun of HeroesCon, the details of how I spent $40 on a plush doll, and our plans for our eventual takeover of the world.

You can listen now at ComicsAlliance or as usual at WarRocketAjax.com, and of course, the iTunes feed is still going strong and is available for reviews!

War Rocket Ajax #70: Unnatural Disaster With Chris and Matt

In this week’s episode of War Rocket Ajax, Matt and I skip out on our usual format and settle in for one last hurrah before HeroesCon and some big mysterious changes that are coming for the show in the next couple of weeks!

Instead of an interview, we’re broing down with a stack of questions from our listeners! You’ll find out what we like and don’t like about L.A. Noire, a rapping/wrestling battle royale and an in-depth look at what is quite possibly our most-hated John Goodman movie. Seriously: It’s three days later and we’re still talking about it.

Plus, we memorialize the late, great Macho Man Randy Savage in the only way I know how: By snapping into a Slim Jim on-air.

It’s the final War Rocket Ajax as you know it! No show next week, but we’ll be back the week after with a familiar face and a major change for the world’s most destructive comic book and pop culture podcast!

War Rocket Ajax #69: You Know What That Means with Jonathan Hickman

This week on War Rocket Ajax, it’s an interview we’ve been trying to get since the show started as Matt and I have a chat with FF writer Jonathan Hickman! We discuss his massive output of creator-owned work, which member of the team he most identifies with, and — as he is a fellow Carolinian — barbecue.

Matt and I also welcome another Hundo Club member to the show, and in the absence of L.A. Noire (our copies didn’t arrive until after recording), I instead explain the premise of the completely insane My Two Dads while laughing myself into a fit. A good time is had by all. Or at least by me. Plus Matt’s life without a car, comics reviews, and a question from you, the listener!

War Rocket Ajax #68: Miracle Monday with Chris Roberson

Happy Miracle Monday, everyone! This week on War Rocket Ajax, Matt and I celebrate one of our favorite holidays with Superman writer Chris Roberson! Join us as we explain why you feel good today even if you don’t know why, and then promptly ruin that feeling with a discussion of Jim Shooter’s profiles of the Legion of Super-Heroes’ sex lives. Plus, Thor discussion, my untimely death in Gotham City, and the return of Haters!
