Hope it fits!
FlashBack Universe Presents…
The Saturn Knight Before Christmas!
Just in time for Christmas, click the image above to read the FlashBack Universe’s latest full-length comic, written by me, drawn by “Peerless” Pierre Villeneuve, and colored by an all-star team of Santa’s Little Helpers! The link’ll take you to a webcomic-style layout, but as with all FlashBack comics, it’s also available as a free download in .cbr format, although if you like it, feel free to donate and encourage Jim Shelley to give me some more work.
As long-time ISB readers might realize, “Saturn Knight Before Christmas” is the first full-length comic that I’ve written to be made available to the public, and I can honestly say that I think it’s one of the best things I’ve done. As arrogant as it is to say it, there’s a line in there that still cracks me up, and I hope you guys enjoy it too.
Bonus Update: If webcomic and .cbr aren’t enough formats for you, “Saturn Knight Before Christmas” is now available on the iPod and iPhone via ComicZeal! It’s free when you download the program via the Apple App Store!
And now, the finale of the ISB’s six-day Santabrations…
Santa vs. Darkseid!
Ty Templeton brings us a permanent addition to the Naughty List in the pages of DCU Holiday Bash #2, reprinted in the DC Universe Christmas trade!
Hooray For Santa Claus!
Standing in for Kris Kringle tonight, it’s…
Evergreen the Talking Christmas Tree!
Because really, who better to help out Santa by delivering toys to Chris Giarrusso’s G-Man than the Christmas tree that came to life and stole his car?
Drunken, Surly Santa Claus!
Before you lose your Christmas spirit, it might be worth nothing that the big guy’s got a lot on his mind, as seen in Shadowpact story from DC Infinite Christmas 2007!
Three days into the Six Days of Santa Claus, and it’s about time we get a visit from the Genuine Article! And it’s just in time for Friday Night Fights!
It’s Sinner vs. Saint–literally, in this case–when Santa takes on Neron in the pages of Mark Waid and Cliff Rathburn’s “Merry Christmas, Justice League–Now Die!” from JLA #60.
Lookout Santa and His Magical Talking Bell!
(Actually, that’s a fake Santa who fronts for the Mob. Although oddly enough, the image above isn’t from “Santa Claus Fronts for the Mob.” That was a Golden Age Sandman story!)
For all of my joking about the True Meaning of Christmas™, the fact of the matter is–as we all learned from Love Actually–that Christmas is a time for being with the people that you care about, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.
So to that end, I’m taking the next few days off. But, rather than leave the ISB unattended while I’m on vacation, I’m going to turn things over to a celebration of my favorite holiday icon: The Big Guy. The Head Honcho! The Connection!
I’ll be back in time for my usual Christmas Eve Christacular, but ’til then, join us each night for a look at Jolly Old St. Nick’s appearances in the world of comics. And hey, to get ready, why not check out Benito Cereno’s look at a True Tale of St. Nicholas? And on the off chance that you’d like to find out more about Love Actually, Bully the Little Stuffed Bull is recapping the whole flick in (sorta) real time!
Merry Christmas, Everybody!
