February 13, 2009 | Posted by Chris Sims If there’s one thing I’ve learned from reading Silver Age Romance Comics–and it’s debatable that I have learned one thing from Silver Age Romance Comics–it’s that even in matters of the heart, there’s always room for a fight scene:

Ahh, alt text. i was worried today was going to be low on Batman, I’m glad i was disappointed.
I know what she needs… a sandwich! My god, woman, EAT something.
Mimi isn’t even a real doctor. If she were, she’d know the best treatment for hysteria is a kick to the face.
Also: in the history of comic books, when someone says “Come back here, you little fool,” has anyone ever, you know, come back?
She doesn’t just slap her but, judging by the violent explosion lines, smashes her head against the cabin’s wall and knocks her out.
“Thanks Mimi! That was quick thinking!”
I have a huge stack of these comics. My favorite is on that features a girl who falls in with the “wrong crowd”. She ends up hitting a motorcycle cop with her car. He gets up, dusts himself off, and gives her a verbal warning. Maybe if Mimi was there, that story would end differently.
And I think that with a series of visits to well-chosen offices in New York and Washington, Mimi could solve this whole economic meltdown, pronto.
Mimi was concealing a roll of pennies in her hand. Honey will be out just long enough for Mimi to seal the deal with Salty Jake O’Handsome there.
Holy crap, KO’ed her with a slap!? Was it some kind of crazy E. Honda slap or something?
…I’m terrified.
