I just love that fighting a bear is the Industry Standard of Ass-Kicking.
And who administers that standard? Bahlactus, that’s who!
Karin Kanzuki’s battle against a bear–and a giant bird, and a lion, and Ken Masters–can be found in the two-fisted throwdown that is Street Fighter: Sakura Ganbaru v.1. And seriously, you guys: That’s just the backup story.
*takes notes*
Industry standard.. beating up a bear. Got it. Now.. how to make that carry over to my campaign..
Is this a recent comic? Because I bet this influenced a young Chuck Dixon.
I bet anyone with enough back issues could show us Batman, Shiva, Iron Fist, etc. beating up a bear.
Between the constant awesome and frequent bear fighting, I need to ask…
Mister Chris Sims- are you Stephen Colbert?
You can tell us…we can keep your secret.
tut tut indeed
She’s lucky that bear doesn’t have a huge crush on Ryu or it probably would have mopped the floor with her. I bet that bear had a thing for Zangief though.
I love the fact that a giant bear is kept in reserve behind a waterfall – presumably for just such an occasion.

You’re right — it has a real Looney Tunes vibe to it.
Particularly if there’s a control panel with 3 buttons:
– Alligator
– Pack of Wolves
– Giant Bear
Very old-school.
Ah, how I missed the karate bearfighting on this site…
I assume everyone is familiar with Sonny Chiba’s awesome chop-socky flicks, Karate Bullfighter (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165348/) and Karate Bear Fighter (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0188799/)?
THESE would’ve influenced Mr. Dixon. ;)
You said that “this is just the backup story”,
but if Tales of the Unexpected has taught us anything,
it’s that the backup story is quite often better than the main one.
I ordered this comic from Amazon last week and the US Postal service has still not delivered it.
Damn it, USPS, there are bears to fight!
Glad to see other.
It’s vonderful.
Ok! Best regards!
