  1. What strikes me most is that the Japanese-English name Cliff gives this version reconfirms what Batman was originally supposed to be, and in my view, what he has lost: he’s supposed to be a scientist/detective, and he’s supposed to be a stealthy, silent ninja.

Let’s see the Elseworlds, please. XD

  2. Hey Sims,

Don’t you want to tell everyone how much bank you dropped on that incredibly awesome purchase?

When I write my full con report, you smarmy so-and-so.

  4. dare da, dare da, dare da
sora no kanata ni odoru kage
    kuroi tsubasa no batoman

    Who’s that, who’s that, who’s that?
That shadow dancing across the sky?
    It’s the black-winged Batman!

(I only had to change two words.)

  5. I had overspent by the time I got to Cliff’s booth last year at SDCC, so all I got was an awesome Architecture & Mortality print… but I wanted so much more.

  6. A whole new word must be invented to accurately measure the depth of my jealousy, Sims.

    I’m thinking jealouwatt or enviton.

  7. Is there some freakin’ secret to getting on Chiang’s sketch list? I’ve tried literally for 3-4 years and failed all three days every year. I got there 10 minutes after the con opened this Saturday to get on his list and it was already full. Any tips? Maybe I need stronger deoderant? I mean DAMN! (He was nice about it and all, but how do I miss out year after year???)

It’s important to note here that retailers and exhibitors get to go in an hour early. But you could probably commission him through the website.

  9. I saw this at Cliff’s table at NYCC this year. Very awesome piece, but too spendy for me, sadly (the Gigantor-esque Superman piece he had was pretty awesome, too). I, too, had to settle for the Doctor Thirteen print (and happily so, I should add, but still).
