I love this song SO MUCH. Merry Christmas, Chris Sims!
The Sloppy Seconds do a pretty sweet cover of this on their “Lonely Christmas” single.
S-A-N-T-A C-L-A-U-S Horray for Santy Claus!
Thanks for that, Now I have to go watch that on DVD. Well, it is more Christmasy than Manos: Hands of Fate. Maybe, really what’s more Christmasy than Torgo? AH! I just had an image of Santa’s workshop populated solely with Torgos…Torgi? What is the multiple form of Torgo? Other than frightening?
Milton DeLugg is the musical director of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Still.
This has supplemented all other holiday specials for me.
A Charlie Brown Christmas, the Rankin-Bass Rudolph… none of them bring the warm, Christmas feeling I get from The Wish Squisher, Let’s Have A Patrick Swayzee Christmas,
and “I want to decide who lives and who dies!” “Oh, I don’t know…”
I think I’ll go downstairs and watch it again. Thanks, Chris!
See also Milton DeLugg and the Band with a Thug!
“Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” is a Christmas tradition. And it’s now available from Cinematic Titanic, too! (Doesn’t have the classic sketches of the MST3K version, but it does feature the full, uncut film. And “if you haven’t seen Dumbledore’s cabaret act, you are in for a treat!”)
But this song…oh, this song is punishment from a vengeful God. Thanks so much for reminding me of it. :)
@Luke J.:
Thanks for the pointer to the Sloppy Seconds cover. Lovely! (Also liked their “Horror of Party Beach”, too.)
