Friday Night Fights: The Mighty Thor: ACTION DENTIST!

Let this be a lesson: Sometimes, Thor will knock your Goddamn teeth out.

And that’s why Bahlactus brushes twice a day.

More of Thor’s take on orthodontia–which mostly involves hitting someone in the mouth with a hammer–can be found in Walt Simonson’s run on Thor, which includes the all-splash awesomeness of Thor #380.

  1. The hardcover version of Simonson’s Thor vol.1 is one of favorites but GAH! Have you seen what volumes 2 and 3 are going for?
YO MARVEL – if you want me to ever buy volume 4 GET THOSE BOOKS BACK IN PRINT!

  2. I find I’m less disappointed when I picture that as a John Workman-style “OH WELL!” careening in giant letters across the page.

  3. I’ve been clobbered in the head before, so snake-face going “G-Reeeaaal” to “Aye, Verily” in 0-60 impresses the hell outta me.

  4. I would totally read a book called “Action Dentist”, though it would probably only be a book by Fred Van Lente about the history of dentistry.

  5. Simonson’s Thor truly resides within the Hall of Greatness. If only Marvel would keep it available lest the youth forget the awesomeness of the days of old. Ware Ye the lesser tales now told of the Mighty Thor! I say thee NAY!

  6. I would totally read a book called “Action Dentist”

    Action Dentist:Thor::Shane MacGowan:Loki

  7. Was this from that bizarre run where Thor had to wear that armor ’cause his bones were all mush?

  8. when I saw the matchup I thought he was gonna post the entire comic for a sec there

Yeah, I can’t imagine anyone at Marvel wanting readers to forget how awesome Thor’s comic used to be…

  10. Brilliant.

I too mourn the lack of alt-text. But I’m assuaged. (Heh heh. Thor dentistry.)

  11. That’s some awesome art, but what’s even more impressive is how Jormungand manages to complete seven complete sentences with his mouth gaping open. He should consider becoming a ventriloquist.

  12. “And moreover … why don’t those 7 lines of dialog give Thor time to get out of the way?”

Everyone knows that Giant Asgardian Serpents are telepathic.
It may have taken a while to read, but Thor heard it, in his mind, all at once.

So do I get an ISB No-Prize or something?
