10 Things You Need To Know About Shadowland

I’m pretty excited about the upcoming Shadowland crossover, which — given that it has the Punisher, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Daredevil and an army of ninjas — should come as no surprise. That’s why today, I’ve done my best to bring readers up to speed on the past year or so of Daredevil so we can all jump in together!

Because that’s what I’m all about now. Togetherness.

  1. I skimmed this. All I got was “magic ninjas.” That’s all I needed to know. Awesome.

  2. So if I have this right, it’s an ‘event’ featuring the blind superhero king of the magic zombie ninjas as he crosses paths with Spider-Man and that guy who apparantly got better from being Frankencastle. – and this is what Marvel calls a ‘street level’ thing?

I grant you, in the Core Marvel Universe this does probably sound like business as usual for the citizens of NYC, but hey – I just read an Avengers issue where they sat around talking about time for a whole issue to the point that when Wonder Man showed up it was actually an improvement. Bring on the magic ninjas, already.

  3. I don’t know. I gave up Daredevil because I got tired of burning $3 every month to watch Matt Murdock get kicked in the balls. Reading DD was such a goddamn chore. This *sounds* like it might be fun, but it still seems like there is major potential for a dirge.

  4. Hey! Thank you! This was very helpful!

(I haven’t read DD since Brubaker left.)

  5. Matt Murdock has been turned into the equivalent of Jack Shepard from Lost- he’s acting like a dick and they’re saying he’s making the wrong decisions- but if you pay attention, those decisions increasingly look to him like the only options he has.

  6. That “Snakeroot” guy — wasn’t he the one who killed Boston Brand?

  7. This sounds waaayyy too complicated for me to bother picking up. I have to wonder how they’re going to fix the Punisher though.

  8. They’ve already set that up in Franken-Castle, Kunar: the Bloodstone is slowly but surely regenerating his wounds, and it’s assumed it’ll eventually completely regenerate him.

Now if it could only make Tony Moore draw faster…
