8 New (Possibly Fabricated) Photos From the Set of the Spider-Man Musical

Every time there’s a new piece of information about the upcoming Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, it just sounds more and more hilarious, to the point where making fun of it has gotten pretty difficult.

But far from impossible.

Yes, today at ComicsAlliance, I’ve done my best to come up with eight predictions for the show’s cast, songs and plot points, illustrated with “on-set photographs” by CA’s own Caleb Goellner!

And seriously, I cannot wait to see this thing. I hope it runs for a hundred years. After it eventually opens, I mean.

  1. A man who doesn’t get Julia Carpenter’s appeal is no man where I come from, mista *pokes Chris in the chest*

  2. To steal a bit from Tom Scharpling, you would have to pay me $300 to sit through this thing. I just don’t think it’s going to be so bad it’s good, I think it’ll be so bad it’s awful.

  3. I just hope Bono and The Edge realize how easily they can win us all over with the haunting, cigar-smoke-laced ballad, “Pictures (Of Spider-Man).”

  4. Don’t want to sound alarmist here, but when a pop-cultural phenomenon becomes a stage musical that’s pretty much the signal that this phenomenon is dangerously overcooked and nearing exhaustion…

  5. Mannnn I just cannot get past that title. It’s Bono at his most maudlin. Some people just really need an editor, and he is one of them.

  6. Y’know, sometimes I feel bad about ignoring this storied American art form. This is not one of those times. On the upshot, it’s not a rock-opera (is it?)!
