Friday Night Fights: Here Comes a New Challenger!

Bahlactus has retired as the undefeated champion, but now a new ref has stepped up to call the shots! Can he live up to the challenge?

I guess there’s only one way to find out!

Batman lives up to his name in the pages of Robin: Year One, by Dixon, Beatty, and Javier Pulido. And really: If you read one Chuck Dixon comic, this should be it.

Whoa, Batman stole Mazinger’s Rocket Punch!

  2. Tim C says:

Love the liver shot. For all his head kicking ability, it seems like Batman is one of the only guys in comics who throws body punches (maybe The Spirit, too). That’s what makes him the complete package.

  3. Ok, I guess I need to pick up Robin: Year One now. How annoying…

  4. Jessie says:

My God, is Two Face fellating Batman (third panel)?

  5. Jessie says:

Because if he is, he’s doing it wrong; Batman’s clearly not enjoying himself.

  6. Danicus says:

Goddamn, do I love the goddamn Batman.

  7. Mr. Allison Blaire says:

I won’t feel complete until I’ve read this. Then I’ll see another post here of something awesome and feel incomplete all over again. If I ever want to quit comics, I’ll need to quit this site months ahead.

Paraphrasing Formerly Known as the Justice League… “He’s Batman, he doesn’t enjoy anything.”

    Hey Chris,

Long time reader, first time commenter.

Just wanted to let ya know that the art is by Javier Pulido not Marcos Martin.

  10. Chris Sims says:

Aw, rats! I always get those two confused, ever since they teamed up for the Captain America special.

  11. Nate Birch says:

Say what you will about Dixon, but nobody writes Robin as well as him for whatever reason. Love the Pulido art too (I was a big fan of his work on Human Target).

Didn’t Dixon write Batgirl: Year One too? I thought that was better than R:YO.
