A Minor Delay

Okay, seriously you guys? I have not been able to stop coughing since I first caught that cold a couple of weeks ago, and it seems to have gotten a little worse over the past couple days, so I’m trading my deadline-meeting credibility (hah!) for an actual good night’s sleep.

The weekly reviews will be up tomorrow, hopefully a little earlier in the day than they’re usually posted.

See what happens when you ride the Horse? Karen Page does, as evidenced by Frank Miller and Dave Mazzucchelli’s mind-blowingly awesome Born Again. Man. There sure has been a lot of Daredevil on the ISB lately, huh?

  1. there’s some daredevil i’ve been expecting to stumble upon on the ISB for months, I think it was in kevin smith’s run. theres a panel where foggy claims how much he “loves little girls” with the creepiest look on his face. even IN context, he was talking a bit…out of context. hurrrm.

  2. My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

As an old friend of mine once said, no self-respecting germ will inhabit an alcohol-ridden body.

  3. I had a cough I could get rid of for about a month. the doctor told me it was a lung infection and cleared up in a couple of days with antibiotics (pills). otherwise your in for a long and sleepless recovery proccess.

  4. I had the lung infection once, and pills do clear it up damn quick. Not to be a downer, but conversely, an ex-roomie of mine had a lingering cough, and it ended up as lymphoma. So maybe a Dr. should be in your future. We don’t want to lose the ISB goodness.

  5. Great. Now I’m going to be quoting Frank Miller dialogue to myself all day long… hope you feel better soon.

  6. Yeah, this flu season’s been a bitch down under, as well. Knocked me on my ass for a week – first time in years, too.

What you need to do is concentrate your will, your energy, your chi, then focus on your hand until it BECOMES LIKE UNTO A THING OF IRON! Then punch yourself in the chest. Scratch one flu bug.

    Get well soon, Mr Sims.

  7. I don’t want to be Mr. Mom here, but I suggest stopping by the doctor to have a look at what’s going on in those lungs of yours. Last year I caught a cold/flu with a lingering cough, and decided to just ride it out, figuring “it’s just a virus, it’ll go away”. Two weeks later it was still going strong, and by the time I finally visited the doc, the cough had already passed all the way through Bronchitis Junction and was parked comfortably in Pneumonia Town. Antibiotics did the job, but the point is, that was two weeks lost which I might have spent taking medicine and getting better quicker.

So, to sum up, drugs are good.

  8. (First time commenter) I agree with the above people: Chill out and take some drugs, it would be unfortunate to miss out on some quality face kicking because of some germs.

  9. GameJudge: harsh but fair. Heh.

In Chris’s absence, has anyone read the new issue of World War Hulk, and if so, how awesome is it, exactly?

  10. Chris,

It may be the Legacy Virus. Bummer, man.

In all seriousness, I, too, have taken the “I’ll shrug this off” approach until a cold has become an upper respiratory infection. Don’t do it, man.

  11. …Wait, Sims, are you implying that you’re considering self-medication using Horse? Don’t do it, man! Karen Page is a trained professional fictional chartacter!

  12. Forget this practical crap with doctors and lungs and antibiotics, man. Important things first: make sure no mysterious meteorites have landed in the mountains near your house lately.

  13. You take a nice looking skinny girl out for dinner and when you barge in on her in the bathroom what do you find? She’s puking it up. I swear it happens to me all the time.
