Anne Hathaway’s Favorite Catwoman Comic

Oh son, I ought to switch the template back to the ol’ black and grey, because we are about to get straight up 2008 style in here! After Anne Hathaway gave an interview where she described a Catwoman story she’d read to prepare for her role as Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises, ComicsAlliance’s Andy Khouri tracked down what issue it was. Thus, I got to dust off the ol’ ISB breakdown skills and write a full length rundown of the Catwoman origin story that involves mystical ninjas.

Oh, but there’s so much more in this one. The armless master! The lava-proof leotard! A truly improbable number of knives! The Talent Himself! Truly, it is a Catwoman comic from 1995.

Remedial Batmanology: Catwoman, Part Two

Today at ComicsAlliance, David and I are finally through the woods with the final part of our review of Catwoman, in which we identify it as pretty much being a remake of Batman Returns, but with Sharon Stone as Christopher Walken and Alex Borstein as Cathy. The newspaper strip character. It’s… it’s not a great tradeoff.

But next week, brother! Christopher Nolan! Batman Begins! Finally, we have something to look forward to!

Animated Batmanology: Tyger Tyger

Our original plan for this week’s Remedial Batmanology was to hit up the 2004 Catwoman movie — which I actually saw in the theater, though I can’t for the life of me remember why — but since we won’t be able to get both installments of that horror done with the San Diego Comic-Con looming in the middle, we decided to take a different route.

Thus, Animated Batmanology takes a look at “Tyger Tyger,” one of the only bad episodes of Batman: The Animated Series! It’s bad, it’s got Catwoman and Uzi and I are progressively overwhelmed by it over the course of a half-hour. Friday Night Fights: Girl-On-Girl Action!

For two skull-cracking weeks, the ISB has remained silent during Friday Night Fights.

For two bone-shattering rounds, I’ve been sidelined from the Internet’s most violent throwdowns.

But tonight, with Bahlactus throwing down the challenge with a cat-themed beatdown of epic proportions, I’m returning in the only way I know how: By throwing in pretty girls punching each other in the face! Believe it:

“Never stop punching.”
