Friday Night Friendship: Hug It Out, Ninjas

After twelve rounds of prize-fights, Bahlactus has rung the bell on another set of Friday Night Fights, and until the next round resumes on the 18th, it’s time to put aside face-kicks and sucker-punches and reflect on the softer side of things.

So instead of highlighting the anger of conflict, we here at the ISB are going to spend the next two weeks making amends with Friday Night Friendship!

Doesn’t it just get you right here?

Team Arashikage reunites in the pages of GI Joe: America’s Elite #34, but you can re-enact it yourself in the comfort of your own home–with battle damage!

  1. The road is long
    With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
    Who knows when
    But I’m strong
    Strong enough to carry him
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.

  2. I kept scrolling down expecting to see some fisticuffs, but wow. :( Thats really powerful stuff.

Maybe all Cobra Commander needs is a hug. “You can catch more flies with honey than with kicks to the chin.”

  3. How much does the World War III storyline in G.I. Joe rule? About a thousand, that’s how much.

  4. G.I.Joe jumped the shark when they revealed Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes had been ‘friends’ and became way too ninja-centric.

No, wait, it was the Cobra-la-la-la-la BS. My bad.

  5. Sims,

While we’re on the subject of love and friendship, hows about a loving description of the “What I’m listening to” segment on your sidebar.

I have Lord Sitar on my Amazon short-list for about a month or so now, but haven’t ordered it yet…
    how is it?

(Yes, I know music appreciation is entirely subjective, but I’d imagine SITAR music – much like Bagpipe music* – is something that once you know you LIKE, it’s merely a matter of how GOOD -or not- is this particular entry?)

Any insight of the Sims variety would be appreciated.

*and yes. I love Sitar music AND bagpipe music. Now if only someone would make a sitar and bagpipe rock band. My head might explode from the joy (and weirdness) of it all.
Right now, GEORGE HARRISON is jamming with RUFUS HARLEY and the universe is groovy.

  6. I like it quite a bit. I first heard about it from Andrew and I’ve been listening to it at work all week. It’s highly enjoyable, and heavy on the Beatles covers, but there’s one of “Daydream Believer” that’s just rockin’.

  7. Once again, the alt-text is fucking hilarious.

Ima find a way to tell two kids who just fought, “That’s right bitches, hug it out.” after they make up.

    a Way.

  8. Hey there. Can I be dumb for a minute? I don’t really get the whole Bahlactus thing. What’s it all about?

Just anyone who wants to participate posts a cool fight and he randomly awards comics to a winner?

    I could get into that.
