M.O.D.O.K. Month Finale: What M.O.D.O.K. Means To Me

Today at ComicsAlliance, I’m finishing off our month-long celebration of the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing in a way that i know he’d approve of: By foisting off my work onto a group of far more talented professionals.

I asked a handful of pros to respond to the question “What MODOK Means to Me” in the style of a fifth-grade essay, and the results are amazing. They cracked me up, and special props go to MODOK’s 11 writer Fred Van Lente for going that extra mile. So enjoy, and remember:

Live every month… like it’s MODOK Month.

  1. I may not have been one of the enlightened few who read Super-Villain Team-Up: MODOK’s 11 in singles but I got the trade last year and lo, it was awesome. I was actually thinking a lot about it at work today and its been at least three months since I last read it.

I really don’t know why Francis Portela doesn’t get higher profile gigs at Marvel.

  2. “Tarletonian” is my new favorite word. And I never get tired of that cover picture from SVTU:M11.

  3. I want all of those Silver Age stories Jess Nevins mentioned in a trade, now. I also picked up SVTU in trade and enjoyed it immensely. Of course, that is at least partially because I am predisposed to like anything that features Rocket Racer and Puma in a team. But it was mostly Van Lente and MODOK (and speaking of which, I need to read BLOGDOK right damn now).
