Action Age Update: Meet The Hard Ones!

If you were one of the lucky few who got a copy of the original Hard Ones ashcan last year at HeroesCon, then you already know the Hard Ones. But for the rest of you, we’re going to take the next few weeks to reintroduce the characters as we ramp up to The Year of the Action Age!

Click the image above to head over to the Action Age and get a better look at the concept art of Rusty Shackles and find out a little more about Judah Mitchell–Occupation: Driver!

  1. I’m really excited about this, because it looks to be amazing.

Chris, have you considered picking up Amazing Spider-Man? I saw it on the shelf today and grabbed it because I like Mark Waid, and I thought it was pretty good.

  2. There’s nothing about this series that isn’t soaked in manliness, is there?

I mean, just look at that belt buckle.

  3. Looks great. I’m pretty damn excited about it! The character notes in the sketch remind me- I’m gonna see the original Gone In 60 Seconds in a theater (in L.A.) on Friday! And Eleanor will be there! It’s gonna be awesome.

  4. I love that he’s sporting what my college friends and I referred to as the Rutherford B. Hayes – the sideburns-into-full-moustache combo.

True fact 1: The historical Hayes never wore the style of facial hair that is attributed to him.

True fact 2: It does not matter; it’s still called the Rutherford B. Hayes.

  5. Rusty Shackles sounds a lot like Rusty Shackleford – a fake name often used by Dale Gribble in King of the Hill.

    Nothing wrong with that tho.

  6. hey clem,

actually that’s where it started, I was creating a player for Fight Night I think and ran out of room to spell shackleford…and here we are. Seems to go over with folks a little easier than the CFC moniker.

  7. I really can’t help but read this as ‘The Hard-Ons’. For that, I apologize

I told Chad that we should’ve gone with my first choice for a name, The Giant Cocks, but he insisted on THO.

  8. i thought you were writing a comic book about the legendary Sydney punk band too, Chris
they’re fuckin awesome. you should check them out
    good guys, too
    seriously The Hard-Ons rock

  9. Note: I’m not affiliated with The Hard-Ons in any way. they just fucking rock
