In Which I Am Uncharacteristically Nice To My Fans

A few weeks ago, an ISB reader called Zac wrote to me and asked if I’d sign a copy of Teenagers from the Future, the collection of essays about the Legion of Super-Heroes to which I contributed, if he sent me one. I said yes of course, as the one thing I like more than Batman kicking people in the face is people acting like I’m someone who should actually be signing books, and when it arrived, I sent Zac an email asking who his favorite Legionnaire was. It turned out that he, like all right-thinking people, was a fan of Matter-Eater Lad, so when I signed the book, I also included this:

He also said he liked Triplicate Girl, but laziness trumps altruism every time.

Zac said he didn’t mind if I posted it here, which is nice because I actually think that turned out pretty well. By my standards, I mean.

Also, I thought I’d let you know that I just turned on the local morning news (WGN Chicago) and they used your Comics Alliance vampire products article for one of their filler bits before they tossed it over to weather. I turned the news on just in time to see Robert Pattinson’s face on the shower curtain, and it’s just as creepy on my TV as it was on my computer.
