In the Future… nobody pays attention to the “The” in front of his name, either.
NO. CLASS.
I love how he misdrew the Bat-symbol so it looks like a drop of juice. Also, the idea of context to this panel scares me.
Kirby + The Batman = Glory so brilliant it almost won’t stick to the page.
I don’t understand – if there are things even Batman doesn’t fully comprehend, which implies limitations to his abilities, does this mean he theoretically COULD create a rock so big even he couldn’t move it?
Here’s the deeply weird thing about that panel: It looks as much like a TOTH Batman as a KIRBY Batman, two styles so diametrically opposed in theory and execution that the idea that there could ever be a moment that they could look the same is so remote that one must simply credit the existence of the Batman for making it possible.
Also, Batman should ALWAYS take the definite article on first reference AT LEAST.
The Batman just arrives places and is instantly declared the champion? Truly, we live in an ideal reality.
For some reason I just cannot get over, I feel I really need to see one of these that says “BATMAN… [silly image] …believes that the children are our future.” It’s stuck in my head so bad that I was sure you’d already done it early on, but I looked back through every one of these and did not see it.
Why Kirby never had a Batman run, I’ll never understand.
We could have had Batman & Robin YEARS ago!
@MaskedAvenger: One drop of Bat-Juice and your life will never be the same.
Bah, this looks like a rip-off of Spiderman’s first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15.
