And to celebrate, please enjoy the following panels from what might just be my favorite spooky comic ever, Monster Cops, featuring Vampirella:
It’s that editor’s note at the end that just kills me every time.
The above panels–and many more just like ’em–can be found in the Monster Cops one-shot by the vastly under-appreciated Chip Zdarsky. Ask for it by name at YOUR local comic shop!
Unrelated to this, but I think I saw a brief shot of ROM on this week’s South Park. If anyone could confirm or would care, I would assume it would be you.
I love ed’s notes like this, but here’s another one that cracks me up even more:

Sorry, the web address did not show up back there.
I wet myself a little. Not because of laughter or fear, but because of awesomeness.
I would like to stage this at a local theater.
Hey, Woody! I got yer confirmation right here, pal:

Yeah, I missed it the first time but caught it on the rebroadcast. ROM WILL RISE AGAIN!
Yeah, I just came to see if you caught it in the rebroadcast… Guess I was beat… But yeah, some serious ROM!
“vastly under-appreciated”
I’LL FUCKIN’ SAY.
Chris, have you ever read the Vampirella/Scurvy Dogs crossover, “Night Boat to Drakulon”? It’s awesome.
I love that comic so much. The editor’s notes are fantastic.
Hey Sims, why do they call a shiv a shiv, anyway?
Ah, the Chipper. It’s nice to see a fellow Canadian getting his props. I love Monster Cops.
I worked on that issue with Maureen McTigue. Chip knocked it out of the PARK!
Brilliant! Anyone who doesn’t think this shits all over that steaming pile Tarot is a commie. From space.
Cheers!

“Ask for it by name at YOUR local comic shop!”
I would, but one of the guys running the place would probably laugh at me. And then throw something at me. And that’s the good shop in town. The other guy would probably take my money in exchange for the book, though. And yes, that efoot note is the best thing ever.
Uh, what is this comic? Was it actually published by the people who do the Vamperilla comics?
Was it actually published by the people who do the Vamperilla comics?
It was originally published in VAMPIRELLA MAGAZINE #7, back in 2004.
