So I saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the World while I was out in San Diego, and because this is a thing that a lot of people seem pretty interested in, I’ve written up ten thoughts on the movie.
I am pretty sure I stayed away from spoilers, but if you want to go in completely fresh, here’s the gist: I liked it a lot.
Chris, have you said anywhere what you thought of Vol 6? I found it… not horrible, but still pretty disappointing compared to the rest of the series, which I’ve absolutely loved. Now I’m kind of hoping to be floored by the movie so I can walk away from the whole Scott Pilgrim experience with a better taste in my mouth.
THANK YOU. Nobody else agrees with me that the tagline is lousy.
I thought v.6 was good, but very odd. But to be honest, I read it when I couldn’t sleep because I was super inebriated at the con, so…
I was going to see this anyway, but you’ve just sold me on seeing it at least twice in the theaters.
Are…are robots fought? That’s one of the things from the comics I don’t see in any trailers, and seems like it would be easy to cut from the film, but it’s something I’ve been wondering a lot about.
I loved vol.6. I actually had a Deep Moment while I was reading it, and everything.
Not to spoil, but: No, the Twins are not roboticists in the movie.
The fight, however, is EQUALLY RAD.
I just hope the fan community doesn’t lose its collective mind when this thing tanks.
Yes, that would be tragic if “the fan community” overreacted to something.
But that never happens!
I want to dislike the movie. Scott Pilgrim fans are often obnoxious to the point of wanting to piss them off.
