The Annotated Santa Claus vs. The Martians #1

If you’re like me, you’ve been looking forward to Santa Claus vs. the Martians since it was announced, and you were absolutely crushed by the news that it got pushed back to next year. In other words, Christmas was canceled.

But in true let’s-save-the-rec-center fashion, series writer (and friend of the ISB) Benito Cereno stepped up and put the entire first issue up on his website, chapter-by-chapter, and now, he’s allowed us to run the full story in its entirety at ComicsAlliance! And what’s more, he and I go through every page to annotate all the Christmasy Santa Claus lore — which, as Caleb Goellner put it, is essentially the history of Christianity’s spread through Europe — that Benito used to build his story.

It’s a great comic and hopefully a fun read for the annotations too, but either way, It’s a Christmas miracle!

  1. So I’m confused, is this a prequel to “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” or not?
