I once saw Captain Marvel kick a puppy to the moon. But, to be fair, the puppy did just pee on a fire hydrant. And littering is a crime.

The next year, the ape returned to wreak vengeance, this time painted blue from head to toe. It was a precursor to the now-famous Silver Age “re-imaginings.”
That ape got off pretty easy. In Adventures of Captain Marvel, Cap is comfortable with mowing down Bad Guys with a machine gun.
Did Cap just punch a monkey in the armpit?
That is exactly how I felt about Bush, Cheney, Rove, and Limbaugh for the last 8 years.
He punched that sucka ape so hard bananas spontaneously burst out.

Captain Marvel is simply referring to the outright swipe of the primate AU concept. Wouldn’t you be pissed if your Marvelous competition totally ripped-off JLApe with what seems like no one noticing or caring?
Wasn’t there supposed to be TPB of the original Monster Society of Evil in the works?

I can buy a flying man in tights who punches out monkeys, but a monkey that can say “Ugh!” stretches credibility too far.
